I find that in the American MNCs that I've worked in, they seem to give the staff quite a lot of freedom in the questions they can ask their CEOs during town hall sessions. However, the same can't be said for most local firms and statboards. In one statboard that I worked in, we were told to submit our questions weeks before the executive's visit so that the questions will be reviewed to remove "inappropriate" ones.
